Meet C.A.R.E. 's Executive Director Bob Scott. The Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) would like to introduce their new Executive Director, Bob Scott. Besides owning several businesses of his own, Bob was a Manager with the Ford Motor Company for many years, and is currently building a local real estate appraisal business. He is a graduate of UCLA and also holds a graduate degree in marketing and finance. Bob has several hobbies and interests, which include kayaking, skiing, backpacking and traveling. Bob and his wife, Kathy, have been C.A.R.E. foster volunteers, taking care of several litters of kittens prior to their adoption. Bob also volunteers at weekly adoption events at Petsmart He has been interested for years in working with a non-profit organization. He has many new ideas for the future of C.A.R.E., including grant funding and community outreach programs, and is excited to be a part of this great organization, and is looking forward to helping C.A.R.E. move forward.

From the President… I am pleased to announce that CARE’s cross-complaint against Katherine Hammersly and Jeffrey Parkhurst was dismissed as a result of a confidential settlement. The cross-complaint against Hammersly and her husband Parkhurst was filed in response to an action filed against CARE by Hammersly, a former board member. As you may recall, earlier this year the trial court found in favor of CARE in the main action and issued a summary judgment against Hammersly, essentially dismissing her complaint. Although Katherine Hammersly appealed Judge Munoz’ summary judgment against her, we are confident that we can now put this behind us and concentrate on our mission of rescuing and adopting San Juan’s abandoned pets. Matt Gaffney, President On the Saturday Before Super Bowl Sunday,The sixth Annual, CARe SHOW 2009 will be held jointly with the 2009 Motorcycle Event to help homeless pets. Rather than a Motorcycle Show, this year the event features a fun Poker Run. CARE is excited to once again have the support of our two title sponsors of these events. Ruby's Diner and Capistrano Harley Davidson offer their help to make the upcoming 2009 event even better than ever. Both sponsors help CARE Volunteers put on events that provide relaxed fun for the entrants and the attendees. Let CARE know today that you want to Volunteer to help at the CARe SHOW or with the motorcycle event. |

These pets need your help to find new homes: Hannah
Adventuresome, talkative, quick, playful and
always in motion, Hannah is anything but dull. Found pregnant and stray,
she had been shot in the face with a BB. The BB was successfully removed
by our Vet and she shows no signs of trauma; physical or emotional.
Hannah was a very good mother to her 6 babies and is ready for an
easier, safer life in a loving home with a human family of her own. She
is tolerant of other cats and would do well in a home with gentle
children. She wants human companionship and purrs loudly when you are
nearby. She will rub your legs affectionately and curl up next to you to
demonstrate her love and devotion. Hannah needs a safe home that will
protect her from her own fearlessness and curiosity. She will reward you
by being your loving feline companion for the rest of her life! |

He is full of energy and excitement and looking forward to finding a home with older, gentle children or another dog where he can become part of the pack. As a young puppy, Kona is still learning everything so he can please his new family and be a welcome addition to his new, forever home. Kona is shown by appointment and is anxiously looking forward to meeting you, so call CARE at 949-240-1735.

Maureen
- This petite young lady is a very gentle and sweet cat. She is
beautifully marked with speckles of brown, black, gray and tan. She has
a beautiful face and would be a wonderful companion and lap cat for some
kind and loving family. She was found pregnant and stray in San Juan
Capistrano, but was fortunate enough to be rescued by CARE where she
will be loved by the devoted volunteers and wait patiently until her
"forever" family comes along and keeps her safe and happy ever after.
Maureen would be happy as the only feline owning the house, or with a cat that could be assertive with this little girl when needed. Micro-chipped |
